TRENTON – To protect the fairness and accuracy of the census count during an unprecedented pandemic, Senator Nicholas Scutari, Assembly Democrats John McKeon, Angelica Jimenez, Benjie Wimberly, Yvonne Lopez, Britnee N. Timberlake and Tom Giblin introduced legislation in their respective Houses to prepare for a temporary extension of the redistricting process if the census is delayed.

Trenton – Senator Nicholas Scutari issued the following statement on the Senate passing legislation, S-2380, he sponsored which would expand access to workers’ compensation and other benefits for front-line workers sickened by the coronavirus:

Cunningham, Chair of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee Paul Sarlo, Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee Nicholas Scutari and Republican Budget Officer Steve Oroho sent the following letter to Governor Phil Murphy and the New Jersey Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development Robert Asaro-Angelo:

Trenton – Legislation which would prohibit employers from terminating, dismissing, or suspending an employee that is actively engaged in providing paid or volunteer emergency medical services related to a state of emergency, passed through the Senate today. The bill is sponsored by Senator Nicholas Scutari, Senator Linda Greenstein and Senator James Holzapfel.

“These agreements help ensure that large, complex projects are completed on time and on schedule,” said Senator Scutari (D-Union). “PLAs enable project managers to control costs and ensure that safety standards are maintained.”

Trenton – A senate committee approved legislation sponsored by Senator Joe Cryan and Senator Nick Scutari that would help prevent the mistreatment of the homeless by New York City’s program that relocates people from the city’s housing shelters to other communities, including those in New Jersey.

TRENTON – Legislation sponsored by Senate President Pro Tempore M. Teresa Ruiz, Senator Nicholas Scutari and Senator Sandra B. Cunningham which would permit using campaign funds to pay for childcare in certain instances, passed the Senate today.

New Jersey Law Journal: “70 is not what it was when this mandatory retirement age was created in 1947," Sen. Nicholas Scutari said.

“It is overtly advantageous for companies involved in arbitration proceedings to have the ability to choose a private arbitrator,” Sen. Nicholas Scutari, a bill cosponsor and attorney, said.
